Sara began her environmental career in 1985, with one of the first permitted RCRA TSDFs in Missouri for a summer job while on break from Central Missouri State University. She affectionately refers to her career as the “Endless Summer”. She later was co-founder and owner of Industrial Compliance and Safety, Inc., which was named by the Kansas City Business Journals, Top 30 Fastest Growing Women-owned Business in 1992. After selling the business to Perma-Fix Environmental in 1995, she became Sales Manager for Perma-Fix Environmental’s Midwest Region for the next 15 years.
